About Community First
Bringing people together to create solutions to redevelopment issues in Naperville is the cornerstone of Community First's mission. Together with the City of Naperville, Community First is promoting its copyrighted visual guide and implementation plan to area homeowners and building professionals through public meetings and its expanded website: www.communityfirstinc.org.
Community First's copyrighted publication, “Workbook for Successful Redevelopment, An Idea and Resource Guide for building in established neighborhoods”, was published in April 2002. The workbook represents a yearlong collaborative effort of Community First members to create an educational tool that provides ideas and resources for new home building and remodeling projects in established neighborhoods.
Community First's advisory guidelines work within existing municipal codes and advocate the use of the group's visual guide workbook at the inception of rebuilding, remodeling or new construction projects located in established neighborhoods.
New members are welcome to support Community First's efforts to encourage active public participation. The group promotes education, communication and cooperation by advocating a comprehensive site evaluation process prior to home design.
